Robert graduated from Needham B. Broughton High School in 1961 and played minor league baseball for several years. He then attended UNCW where he majored in business. After graduating he worked with his father and brother in the family insurance business before applying for and being accepted into the training program for the U. S. Treasury Department’s Federal Law Enforcement Division. He served in the Secret Service providing protection for Presidents and Dignitaries and investigating counterfeiting and postal theft. Robert was later assigned to the Federal Law Enforcement Center in Glynnco, GA where he taught trainees. In the latter part of his career he was employed with the Glynn County Georgia School System. Robert is survived by two children, four grandchildren, a brother and three sisters.
