Marie Talton Evans, 79, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022 surrounded by members of her loving family as she was called home by her Lord and Savior. She was born March 6, 1943 in Norfolk, VA to the late Norwood James Talton and Annie Card Talton. She graduated in 1961 from Broughton High School. Marie retired as a Secretary with the NC Court of Appeals and began to raise her children full time along with managing her and Warren’s business. Marie was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Knightdale. 

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. 

The family will receive relatives and friends Monday, May 9, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. 

She is survived by her husband, Warren Francis Evans; son Jay Warren Evans (Christa); grandchildren: Wyatt Evans and Paige Evans; daughter, Kelly Gray Evans Peele (Tommy); grandchildren: Meredith Peele and Morgan Peele; sister, Barbara King (Gene); nephews: Chadd King (Amy), David Talton; niece, Cindy Golden (Mike); sister-in-law, Debbie Sturtevant. 

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by brother, James Talton.
