JANE TEAL MILEY, age 79 of Leesburg, Virginia passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born Friday, November 19, 1943 in Raleigh, NC, Jane was the daughter of the late Hubert and Virginia Teal. Jane grew up in Raleigh and earned a bachelor's degree in Economics from University of North Carolina at Greensboro. After relocating to the Washington, DC area to work for NSA, Jane met and married Henry Miley in 1967. Their first daughter was born in Alexandria, VA. In 1972, the couple established their family in Leesburg, VA where their second daughter was born. Jane had a long and successful career in project management and technical writing with government contractors including E-Systems/Raytheon where she worked for more than 25 years. Later, she was employed by SAP and BAE Systems from which she retired.

During her retirement years, Jane most enjoyed spending time with her daughters and granddaughter, especially their many vacations in Topsail Island, NC and other locations. She had a wide social network and cherished her many friendships. Jane devoted time to the American Red Cross and the Virginia Department of Elections and was a proud member of the Loudoun Chorale for many years.

Jane leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, SARAH J. MILEY of Leesburg, VA and MARGARET V. MILEY of Bluemont, VA; one granddaughter, CAROLINE S. MILEY; and former spouse, HENRY A. MILEY, III. She is predeceased by her parents, HUBERT T. TEAL and VIRGINIA BRYSON TEAL; and her sister, MARTHA T. OLSON.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175. A memorial service to celebrate Jane's life will follow at 1:00 PM on Friday. Interment will be held privately.
