Although I had lost track of Larry, learning of his passing came as a sad surprise. He was well-liked and self-effacing. I cannot do his sense of humor justice, but I do recall one of his remarks in the school cafeteria line duirng junior high: "They treat us like gods and goddesses - by providing us with burnt offerings." RIP, Larry.

This world in which we find ourselves today  has become way too, big, too scattered, too impersonal.

Those of us who knew Larry Kemp will recall how he could easily, naturally liven up a room or  any activity..

He had that rare capability, that charm and wit which distinguished him from his piers.

Learning of his passing back in April of 2011 is of particular impact, hurt and dissapoing to me,  as he was living in the beautiful mountain community of Zionville, which is only about ten miles from my house on the Watauga river gorge and I never even  knew it until just now.  .

Yes, the song writer spoke volumes in the lyrics .. . "The days dwindle down, to a precious few . . . . "

There were many of us, Larrys'   But only one Larry Kemp . . .God Rest His Soul !
