Bill Jackson's artistic abilities amazed fellow students all the way back to his days at Wiley Elementary School, and his talents increased immensely through the years. He was also a talented athlete and may have seen more playing time as Broughton's quarterback if Tommy Snotherly hadn't excelled at leading the Caps. All of us who knew him will miss his wit and congeniality. I will never forget the time in fifth grade when he asked the teacher, "Why do we say Columbus discovered America when there were already people here?" He was ahead of his time.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Bill Jackson. He was a close childhood friend and we maintaineed that friendship through our school years. I had not seen Bill for many years when we spent an hour at our 50th reunion " catching up ". He was a kind, humble , and very intelligent man and may he rest in peace.
