Jimmie was one of my long time friends; being "C" students, we were always in the same classes and home room. Sorry to hear that he passed.

Jimmy Creech was a person of many talents: intelligent, a connoisdeur of good jokes, congenial, athletic, and--although he didn't make a big deal about it--a good singer. Ted Shoaf, our seventh-grade teacher for English, history, and social studies, would sometimes invite students to sing popular songs of the day. (Several of us tried "Sixteen Tons" with disastrous attempts at Tennesee Ernie Ford's low notes.) "It's Amost Tomorrow" was a sentimental  tune recorded by several artists, although the Dream Weavers' version seemed most popular in our class. Jimmy stood up and absolutely nailed it! His voice would have blended perfectly with the Dream Weavers. So, although everyone who knew Jimmy Creech remembers him as an easy-going fellow who went on to a long, successful career in the insurance industry, I will always remember him for his exceptional singing--exceptlional because it contrasted so sharply with the rest of his personality and exceptional in quality.

I always thought of Jimmy as someone that could be counted on to do the right thing. Our families enjoyed many days on the ball fields as our children grew up. He and Gloria were very much a strong part of the comunity we lived in. Jimmy will be remembered by all who knew him as an all around great guy. Glad I had the oppertunity. to share parts of our lives with each other.RIP Jimmy.
